Last updated on October 6, 2021

This would be so much better if I had a grill. Unfortunately, I only have oven, therefore it didn’t have the “char”-smoky effect.

INGREDIENTS

  • Shrimps, peeled, leave tails on
  • 1 Tbsp honey
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 Tbsp finely minced garlic
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 Tbsp lemon or lime juice

PREPARATION

1. Soak wooden skewers for at least 30 minutes before cooking to prevent burning.

2. Mix honey, olive oil, garlic, salt, black pepper, paprika and lemon juice together in a large bowl. Whisk until honey dissolve.

3. Add shrimp to the bowl to marinade for at least 30 minutes.

4. Thread shrimps on skewers. (you can thread shrimps on skewers before marinade to avoid getting too messy. Just make sure the shrimps are evenly coated.

5. Set the grill to high heat until about 300ºF, then turn to low. (I set my oven to 350ºF). Add the shrimp skewers and close the lid.

6. Cook shrimps until the shrimp is no longer translucent, tails turn red and curl up, about 2-3 minutes on each side.

7. Squeeze on more lemon juice to serve.

NOTES

Remember to devein the shrimps. It is the black string down its back. To do that, gently make a shallow slit down the middle of the back, and lift the black string out with your knife.
